Penn State Football: Five youngsters poised for a big game against Ohio
RB Kaytron Allen
It may be cheating to double dip on running backs, but we’re going to do it anyway.
The other blue-chip running back commit in Penn State’s 2022 class, Kaytron Allen, also had a nice debut last Thursday.
The true freshman carried the ball nine times for 31 yards in the game. His tough running style was on display as he led the team in yards per carry and had numerous tough runs.
The staff clearly trusts Allen as well, as he had a key 8-yard run on the final drive of the game against Purdue. The fact he was trusted in that situation with the game on the line says a lot about his character and talent.
Allen will receive opportunities for the same reasons Singleton will, but don’t be surprised if Allen gets a lot of run early in this game in the redzone. The staff may try to see how Allen does down at the goal line and if he can become that short yardage back the team needs.
Don’t be surprised if Allen ends up scoring the first touchdown of the game for Penn State on Saturday.
