QB Drew Allar

Drew Allar is the most talked about player on Penn State’s roster, and that should continue to be the case on Saturday.

QB2 played meaningful football in the contest against Purdue, going 2-4 for 26 yards. He could have had more success if one of his deep passes wasn’t dropped. This was a rather impressive start for a freshman quarterback thrown into the fire of a conference game on the road.

This time around, hopefully the stakes are not as high when Allar enters the game.

If things go according to plan, Penn State should be up by multiple touchdowns heading into the fourth quarter on Saturday.

If that is the case, Allar should be entering the game with the second team. With how Allar looked against a Big Ten team last week, he could have a big day against an Ohio secondary that struggled mightily last week.

Despite the fact that Penn State might be up big when Allar enters, he should be allowed to sling the ball around. He will not get any better by handing the ball off three times in a row every drive. Look for the staff to greenlight Allar on being able to pass the ball.
