Penn State Football: Five youngsters poised for a big game against Ohio
RB Nick Singleton
The No. 1 running back from the 2022 recruiting cycle saw plenty of action in his first college game.
Nick Singleton carried the ball ten times for 31 yards in his debut. His ten carries were the most on the team and his 31 yards were tied for the most. While he didn’t have any electric runs like fans may have hoped for, it was still a strong start for the true freshman.
Ohio was not bad against the run last week in its win over FAU, allowing just 100 rushing yards during the game. Regardless, Penn State’s offensive line isn’t FAU’s and will be a much tougher test for the Bobcat’s defense.
This should allow Singleton to get some opportunities to break some big runs. Moreover, if the Nittany Lions have a sizable lead in the second half, veteran Keyvone Lee will likely be removed from the game, giving Singleton more carries.
Look for the Gatorade Player of the Year to score his first career touchdown on Saturday and give fans more to be excited about.
