Will The Tight End Room Please Stand Up?

Penn State Football fans have always seen production from the tight end position during the James Franklin era. Last season was a complete letdown when it comes to the tight ends.

The position room is littered with four-star recruits. Before every game last season we heard, “This is the week the tight ends get going.” It never came to fruition.

The Tight End group features Theo Johnson, Brenton Strange, and Tyler Warren. The group combined for 44 receptions and 499 yards. That averages out to less than 40 yards a game.

Ready for Bold Prediction number one?

The Tight Ends combine for over 100 total yards.

Mike Yurcich has had an entire offseason to scheme and build a game plan to feature the talented tight ends. Theo Johnson and Brenton Strange will both find success in the middle of the Purdue defense. Tyler Warren will be involved in a trick play that nets some serious yardage or results in a touchdown.
