Penn State Football storyline #3 – Drew Allar

From the starting quarterback to the new backup quarterback: true freshman Drew Allar.

Undoubtedly, the biggest news that came out of fall camp was the announcement that the former five-star has won the backup quarterback job.

Now, will he show us why he has earned it?

We will certainly see Allar take some in-game snaps throughout September for one reason or another. Hopefully it’s because Sean Clifford stays healthy and is playing his best football and the Nittany Lions have comfortable second half leads over Ohio and Central Michigan; where Clifford can stand on the sideline and let the highly touted true freshman get some reps.

Once he has gotten in there a couple times, the talk of the fanbase will certainly be about how he has performed and will be one of the more intriguing things for fans to watch throughout the first month of the season before the Nittany Lions become fully submerged in conference play.
