Penn State Football 2022: key players and keys to success on offense
By Nick Kreiser
Penn State Football key player on offense – Mitchell Tinsley
Sean Clifford is obviously the biggest key to success on offense in 2022, but seeing as though a quarterback will always be the most important position, it’s too convenient to pick him as the second key player on offense.
So instead, we’ll go with someone who is new to the program and will surely be one of the team’s best offensive players in 2022.
Mitchell Tinsley will be one of the top two pass-catching options for this squad, and with Parker Washington eating up a ton of receptions on short to intermediate routes out of the slot, Tinsley will need to be that big play threat out on the edge–similar to what Chris Godwin was able to do back in 2016.
If Tinsley can get loose and take the top off the defense a couple times per game, this offense could be tough to contain. Not to mention, even the threat of Clifford connecting with him for a long touchdown through the air could help to open up the running game.
He may only be spending one year in Happy Valley, but Mitchell Tinsley will play a crucial role in that one year.
