Ta’Mere Robinson joined Penn State football’s recruiting class after a recruitment that stretch almost three years.

Ta’Mere Robinson became the newest member of Penn State’s 2023 class on Friday.

Robinson had been one of the longest targeted prospects on Penn State’s board. The 4-star received his Penn State offer back in April of 2020, but he was on Penn State’s radar long before that.

From Pittsburgh, Robinson becomes the second linebacker to commit to Penn State in the last two days, joining Tony Rojas. Listed at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, Robinson profiles best at the WILL linebacker position. There is some thought that he could eventually become an edge rusher on the defensive line if he grows too big for linebacker.

Over the course of his recruitment, Robinson accumulated 28 offers that included Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, USC and Miami. In addition to Penn State, he took official visits to Miami and Virginia Tech.

Robinson is listed as the No.137 player in the country according to the 247 Sports composite. He is ranked the No. 3 player in Pennsylvania, giving Penn State commitments from two of the top three players in the state. In all, Penn State has seven in-state commits in the 2023 class.

Defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Manny Diaz should be pleased with his first recruiting haul at Penn State, as he landed his top two targets. It also has to feel good that both of these victories came against his former school in Miami.

These were also two recruitments Diaz needed to win. The linebacker depth on the roster is currently not great, but after bringing in two linebackers in the 2022 class and three this cycle, the future looks bright at the position.

Penn State is recruiting at an elite level in 2023. They now have 19 commits, with 14 of them being blue-chip recruits. The class now ranks fourth in the national rankings.
