The Potential to Play on Sundays

While Penn State is struggling to produce on-field success, one thing they are good at is putting players into the NFL. Penn State saw eight players drafted in 2022, six players in 2021, and five players in 2020.

Penn State Football has seen Saquon Barkley, Micah Parsons, Odafe Oweh, and Jahan Dotson go in the first round of the NFL Draft under James Franklins’ leadership.

2022 served as a benchmark and an expectation moving forward. The eight players drafted led the Big Ten conference and ranked fourth nationally behind Georgia, LSU, and Cincinnati. The eight players drafted is Penn State Football’s best performance since ten players were taken in the 1996 NFL Draft.

As hard as it is to believe, Penn State put more talent into the NFL than Alabama, Ohio State, and Michigan.

For the top recruits, this is a huge reason to pick Penn State. The top-ranked recruits are looking for a path to the next level and Penn State is as good as any at offering that potential.
