Jaxon Smolik

Tulane commit Jaxon Smolik is quickly becoming one of the hottest names on the recruiting trail because of his performance at the Elite 11.

Ranked as the No. 46 quarterback in the country, Smolik committed to Tulane less than three weeks ago. He is from Des Moines, IA and holds offers from Cal, Kent State and a few others.

As of right now, the competition for Smolik is not anything Penn State can’t overcome. The Nittany Lions would be his biggest offer by a wide margin if they offered him.

The question becomes, will Penn State offer the 6-foot-2 signal caller and is he really going to decommit from Tulane this soon?

Considering the staff at the Elite 11 thought Smolik belonged on the final list with some of the best quarterbacks in the nation says a lot about his talent though.

Smolik is the No. 1 name to monitor as the summer goes on, considering his stock is on the rise.
