Outside Linebacker

LaVar Arrington

LaVar Arrington is one of the best athletes to ever play for Penn State Football.

Arrington terrorized Big Ten defenses during the 1998 and 1999 seasons. He was a first-team All-American those two seasons and was a first-team All-Big Ten player as well.

In 1999, Arrington won the Butkus Award (nation’s best linebacker), the Bednarik Award (nation’s best defensive player) and the Lambert Award (top collegiate linebacker). Arrington also recently announced that he will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame later this year.

Arrington was an absolute stud, so it’s no surprise he decided to skip his senior season at Penn State and ended up getting drafted second overall in the 2000 NFL Draft.

Arrington had a knack for getting after the quarterback. With the uncertainty at defensive end for Penn State in 2022, a linebacker who can create pressure in a must. We’re placing Arrington at the Will position in this defense.
