The name, imagine and likeness era of college football is now here, and that got us thinking about which former Penn State Football greats would have benefitted from it.

Penn State Football has had their fair share of marketable players over the years, but those players didn’t get the opportunities that ones today now have. Players can now start businesses, appear in commercials, have sponsors and earn money through other means such as selling autographs.

So, that got us thinking about which former Nittany Lions would have cashed in the most had they played today in the NIL era. There are plenty of options to pick from, so for the sake of keeping this list from being 20 names long, we’re going to focus only on players from the last 25 years, although there are plenty of worthy candidates throughout Penn State’s history.

Here are five Nittany Lions from recent history who would have benefited from NIL.
