Not many Penn State players recently have had the type of swagger that Marcus Allen possessed.

The hard-hitting safety was a fan favorite thanks to his great play and even better personality.

During Penn State’s epic run in 2016 and 2017, Allen was the leader of the defense. For his career, Allen recorded 320 tackles with 17 being loss and three sacks. Allen had a nose for the ball and always made the big play.

Allen is responsible for two of the most memorable plays in recent Penn State history.

As you probably know, Allen was the one who blocked the field goal against Ohio State that Grant Haley returned for the game-winning touchdown in 2016. The next year, Allen again gave another iconic picture with his stare down of a Pitt running back after Allen tackled him in the endzone for a safety.

Like with Allen Robinson and his catch against Michigan, Allen could have sold merchandise with these two plays on it. The fanbase would have loved to buy a shirt made by Marcus Allen of Marcus Allen blocking that field goal.

In addition to these plays, Allen was a hit on social media as well. It’s easy to think about him being endorsed by numerous companies with him tweeting out ads and promotions for them. Marcus Allen as the spokesman for a Pennsylvania based company just makes too much sense.

Between merchandise and endorsements, Allen would have been an NIL legend.
