Penn State Football is Linebacker U, but the team has had some struggles recruiting the position the past few cycles.

Penn State Football’s 2023 class is off to a hot start, but a linebacker hasn’t joined the class yet.
This is a crucial cycle for first-year defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Manny Diaz, as the team needs to build more depth at the linebacker position.

Two local linebackers are off the board as Philadelphia 3-star Josiah Trotter committed to West Virginia in April and 3-star Phil Picciotti from Perkasie did not include the Nittany Lions in his recent top four.

With official visits coming up in June, it’s good to know which names to monitor and see how their visit goes. While more names may emerge later in the year, as of right now these look to be the linebackers that Penn State is currently in the thick of it for.
