5. LB Tony Rojas

Linebacker is a big need for the Nittany Lions in the 2023 class and they will get one of their top targets in 4-star Tony Rojas on campus from June 17-19.

Rojas recently released a top four of Penn State, Georgia, Clemson and Miami. This is going to be a heavy-weight fight for the Virginia product, to say the least.

An above average athlete with good size, Rojas is what Penn State is looking for at the SAM linebacker position. His 6-foot-3 frame should allow him to be a force against the run, once he adds some more weight, but his speed and range will be crucial in coverage.

Penn State is the third official on Rojas’ calendar, with the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs getting the last visit. Not having the last say certainly isn’t great, especially when the team who is getting the last say is Georgia.

However, last June Alabama got the last official visit for Dani Dennis-Sutton and three other schools got visits from Nick Singleton after his Penn State one, and yet both picked Penn State just a couple weeks later.

Rojas has been on campus a few times already, so this visit will be centered more around sealing the deal rather than trying to make a good impression.
