Penn State Football WR Jahan Dotson has found his NFL home after being selected at No. 16 overall by the Washington Commanders. This is what he brings to the Commanders.

Jahan Dotson, a three-year starter at Penn State, has found his new professional home with Washington. While at Penn State, Dotson recorded 183 receptions and 25 touchdowns, both good for second all-time at Penn State. He also finished his career with 2,757 yards, which ranks fourth all-time at Penn State.

Unlike Chris Godwin or Allen Robinson, Dotson, listed at 5-foot-11 and 183 pounds, is not a big body receiver who can bully his way to a catch. What sets Dotson apart from former Penn State wide receivers is his ability to create space and his ability to run after the catch.

I’m not a draft or scouting expert so, here is what the actual experts say about Jahan Dotson:

ESPN NFL Draft Expert Mel Kiper:

"“Talk about a do-it-all type of player with a great attitude and a great approach to the game of football. James Franklin can’t say enough good things about Jahan Dotson and what he meant to this Penn State football team. The acrobatic catches, the ability to do dynamic things with the ball in his hands, the ability to change the game with one play in terms of the overall attitude of the football team, to ignite enthusiasm and get that team flowing, he was able to do that.”"

Pro Football Network’s Ian Cummings

"“When he’s at his best, Dotson is a pure playmaker. As a catcher, he has the vertical athleticism, body control, hands, and laser focus to make eye-popping plays down the field. And as a ball carrier, the Penn State WR is explosive, agile, and he can sink his hips effortlessly when evading defenders. He doesn’t always play to this maximum, but the potential is there. And his success as a punt returner only reaffirms that.”"

Jahan Dotson projects by almost every analyst to be an NFL Starter. While at Penn State, Dotson proved that he can work against all levels of the defense. Dotson has arguably the best hands in the draft. Penn State fans know that Dotson has the talent and skillset to become Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz’s go-to receiver. He will be a vital piece for Washington’s offense, as the Commanders are in the process of a much-needed rebuild.
