9. LB Tony Rojas

Linebacker is a huge need for the Nittany Lions and first-year defensive coordinator Manny Diaz.

One of the top targets is 4-star Tony Rojas out of Fairfax, Virginia. At 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, he has solid size for a linebacker with room for growth once he gets to college. An above-average athlete, Rojas is perfect for either the SAM or WILL linebacker positions.

Rojas has had a busy Spring with visits to South Carolina, Clemson, Tennessee, and others.

He has said that will visit Penn State again on April 15. That will be a crucial visit for Diaz and Penn State’s defensive staff as Rojas has moved close to the ‘must get’ category this year.

He likely isn’t close to a decision, as his busy visit schedule would indicate. A summer decision could certainly be on the table though after all the visits are complete. If Penn State wants to land Rojas, they’ll have to keep up the pressure when he returns to campus next week.
