Penn State Football opened spring practice today which means the media got their first look at top recruit and quarterback Drew Allar in a Nittany Lion uniform

Spring has officially sprung in Happy Valley, and with that comes the first day of spring practice for James Franklin and Penn State Football.

After a 7-6 campaign in 2021, the Nittany Lions have a lot to prove this season and open spring ball with a lot of concerns. But, one thing the entire fan base and the program is rightfully excited about is seeing this highly ranked 2022 recruiting class hit the field.

We got our first glimpse of top-ranked quarterback Drew Allar in pads and got to see him spin it a bit at practice working with quarterback coach and offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich.

Sean Clifford figures to be the starter when the team will head to West Lafayette for its Week 1 clash with Purdue. However, we will see if an impressive spring and fall camp by the freshman could leave Franklin and Yurcich with a tough decision to make.

All eyes will continue to be on Allar as he is the first big quarterback commit of the Franklin era and is the highest-ranked quarterback recruit to land in state college since Christian Hackenberg.
