Are there any returning players ready to make a big jump?

To go along with some true freshmen that could be poised to have a breakout spring, there could also be some returning Penn State Football players that could take a big step forward this offseason.

Offensively, wide receivers KeAndre Lambert-Smith and Malick Meiga, who are both entering their third year on campus, could be some potential breakout candidates.

Running backs Devyn Ford and Caziah Holmes could make a leap as well as a pair of veterans in the room, after both saw a reduced workload in 2021.

Landon Tengwall, a probable starter on the interior of the offensive line, also has the potential to make some significant strides in the right direction in this his second spring in State College.

On the defensive side, linebackers Tyler Elsdon and Kobe King, who both can gain a lot this spring as they compete for a starting spot on the second level of Manny Diaz’s defense, could have a breakout offseason as well.

Defensive backs Johnny Dixon and Jaylen Reed, and defensive linemen Zuriah Fisher and Coziah Izzard could all be poised to turn heads this offseason, as they will all see increased roles in the upcoming campaign.

The more the merrier in terms of breakout players, but expect at least a few of these returning players to have an impressive spring.
