NIT (National Invitation Tournament)

Myreon Jones (Florida Gators) — vs #2 seed Xavier Sunday March 20th, 1:00 pm on ESPN

The Gators already advanced to the second round in the NIT, defeating Iowa 79-74.  Jones palyed 26 minutes and scored 5 points.  On the season, Jones has struggled a bit, averaging 8.6 points and 2.7 rebounds while only shooting 32.8% from three point land.  Could he be thinking about staying down south but reuniting with his former coach at Florida Gulf Coast?

The Basketball Classic (TBC)

Jim Ferry (UMBC) — the former Nittany Lions interim head coach was immeidately picked up UMBC.  He led them to a TBC berth, but their team was forced to forfeit their first round home match-up vs Merrimack due to the inability to field a healthy team.

Pat Chambers (Florida Gulf Coast, kind of?) — Pat’s new team the Eagles is also playing in TBC, beating Detroit Mercy last night in the first round.  Chambers isn’t technically coaching the team yet as the previous coach will finish the duration of the season.   Their second round opponent has yet to be announced.
