No. 3 February 27, 2022 (Bryce Jordan Center):  Nebraska 93 – Penn State 70

Sunday’s atrocious loss comes in at #3 on this brutal list.

We have to frame just how bad this Nebraska team was/is to understand why this is the lone conference game on this list.

Penn State Basketball was a 10.5 point favorite, at home, and trailed by as many as 32 points in the second half. Nebraksa had just one conference win coming into the game, squeaking by Minnesota at home.

Making this loss even worse were the expectations of this Nittany Lion team.

With an outside chance of making the NIT, Penn State Basketball had two very winnable home games, taking care of the first vs Northwestern. Nebraska was supposed to be culminiation of an 8 conference win season where the Nittany Lions defended home court very well.

For the first time at home all year, Penn State basically didn’t even show up.

To lose in conference, that happens, even to a bottom dwelling team.  But to get blown out, at home, by the statistically worst team in the conference BY FAR, was completely unacceptable.
