Penn State Football: Transfer Portal target Kameron Butler receives offer
By Andrew Adair
Penn State football used the transfer portal to their benefit last season. This year they haven’t made many moves … yet.
In 2021, Penn State Football used the transfer portal as well as any team in the nation.
The Nittany Lions added DE Arnold Ebiketie and DT Derrick Tangelo to a defensive line that lacked veteran talent. Both used the opportunity presented by Penn State Football to become serious NFL Draft prospects.
The newest target for Penn State Football that could follow the same path as Ebiketie and Tangelo is DE Kameron Butler.
Butler is coming off of a season at Miami (OH), in which he earned First Team All-MAC honors. He has played two full seasons in the MAC and has accumulated 98 tackles, 13.5 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles.
Penn State Football was the first school to offer Butler after he entered the transfer portal. Butler is quickly becoming a hot commodity and has picked up several other offers. It’s obvious James Franklin has identified Butler as a top target in this year’s transfer portal.
The defensive line for Penn State is lacking in proven playmakers. The only known commodity is P.J. Mustipher. Butler is the type of player that could have the same success as Arnold Ebiketie. Butler will also have two years of eligibility to build his draft stock at Penn State.
