Transfer portal on fire, but is James Franklin asleep at the wheel?
Miles Frazier – Offensive Tackle
Committed to LSU
Ranked as the 18th best player in the transfer portal by 247sports Frazier was a highly coveted prospect but much like with Windmon, Franklin was once again too far in the back of the line for Frazier.
The former FIU left tackle had already taken visits and home visits with LSU, Ohio State, and Florida State and posted to his social media a “Top 3” by the time Penn State Football got involved with an offer.
Frazier ultimately chose the Bayou Bengals and LSU.
Later that week in an Outback Bowl press conference Franklin mentioned that sometimes these things are over before they even start with the transfer portal, which as we said earlier is undeniable in some cases, but did not feel like it applied with Frazier. It felt like an excuse from Franklin who was being beaten to the punch.
The Camden, New Jersey native was on the market for a while and took campus visits and even had FSU head coach Mike Norvell drop into his home.
There is being late to the party, and then there is being so late the kid already has a top-three in place, essentially eliminating yourself before you start.
listed at six-foot-five and 305 pounds, Frazier would have been a day one starter at either left or right tackle for Penn State Football and really changed the outlook of the offensive line in 2022 and beyond as he still has three years of eligibility remaining.
