Right Tackle

Landon Tengwall – Rs. Freshman

Even as a freshman, Tengwall would be Penn State Football’s heaviest offensive linemen listed at six-foot-six and 326 pounds.

Tengwall was a highly touted four-star recruit coming out of high school and saw action in a few games this season, earning high praise from James Franklin after his performance in the Rutgers game where he saw a majority of his snaps at left tackle.

He saw time in the Outback Bowl at guard, and coming to Happy Valley some thought he would make an ideal guard due to his size and power and ability to run block. He may not have the ideal length for a tackle at this level either, but looked very solid when he got the chance and might be the most talented offensive lineman in the group.

Tengwall has to see the field and be a starter in 2022 because he is just to talented not to, whether it comes at guard or tackle. With Wallace’s struggles at right tackle this past season, it would make sense to give the freshman his shot out there.

This offensive line with Fashanu and Tengwall at tackles next year could see marked improvement over this season.
