The good news for the Penn State Wrestling Team continues as Brady Berge announces he is returning to State College to wrestle the rest of the 2021-2022 season

Penn State Wrestling has been off to a fantastic start in the 2021-2022 season. The Nittany Lions have put together a perfect 8-0 dual meet record, the newly added Max Dean has been a dominating force, the four returning NCAA champions have continued right where they left off from last year, and Drew Hildebrandt is set to solidify the 125 spot going forward.

But the good news doesn’t stop there.

Former Penn State wrestler Brady Berge, who suffered a terrible injury in last year’s NCAA tournament and later announced his retirement, has just announced he will be returning to Happy Valley to finish out the rest of the season and finish his career as a Nittany Lion on the mat.

In the offseason, Berge joined the South Dakota State wrestling coaching staff as a volunteer assistant prior to the start of the 2021-22 season. And while he plans to return to his coaching role following this announcement, it’s obvious the itch to wrestle against the best in the country was too big to scratch without one last shot.

This is yet another huge boost for the Nittany Lions as the assortment of grapplers they have sent out to the mat at 157 have struggled and Penn State has yet to win a dual meet match at this weight.

The Penn State Wrestling faithful have wished nothing but the best for the talented Berge and hopefully he will be able to finally ride out into the sunset of college wrestling giving it his all.
