Taking a look at the options that Penn State Football has to replace Jahan Dotson in 2022

Penn State Football quietly churns out NFL talent at the Wide Receiver position, the latest will be Jahan Dotson.

The Nittany Lions always have that one guy that is a game-changer.

Just from recent memory, you have Allen Robinson II, Chris Godwin, DaeSean Hamilton, and KJ Hamler.

While some have fared better than others in the NFL, the one constant is that each of them was the focal point of Penn State’s passing offense.

Dotson is the latest Nittany Lion that will take his talents to the NFL. Dotson will leave Penn State Football finishing in the top four in career receptions, yards, and touchdowns. That means Penn State has a big hole to fill in the 2022 season.

In an offense that struggled in 2021, the one aspect you never had to worry about was Jahan Dotson.

While Penn State is returning a solid WR room without Dotson, it will be tough for a single player to replace his production.

The Lions’ returning options are talented but are very unproven. It will likely take a team-effort for Penn State Football to replace Jahan Dotson, rather than someone simply stepping into his role.

Here are three ways Penn State Football can replace Jahan Dotson in 2022:

1) Penn State Football WR Parker Washington

I know, I know, I said that no one player could replace Dotson’s production.

Parker Washington is the best returning wide receiver for Penn State. Washington will be coming into his third season which, follows previous Penn State receivers’ rise to being a top target.

Washington had games against Villanova and Ohio State that show he can take a game over.

The question remains if he can get open when he is the focal point. Washington will be Penn States’ number one receiver, but matching Dotsons numbers are a lofty goal.
