What more can be said about Sean Clifford.

One of the most prolific passers in Penn State Football history is going to give us one more year as referenced here: Clifford Confirms 2022 Plans.

It will be nice to have Clifford for the beginning of the season while incoming freshman Drew Allar learns the college game.

The schedule for the Nittany Lions is not an easy one and there’s going to be a lot put on Clifford’s shoulders once again. What began as a Heisman-worthy campaign, injuries and a lack of a balanced offense was the demise of the 2021 Penn State team.

Clifford’s mobility continues to be one of his most important skill sets and when healthy, puts Penn State in the driver’s seat for most games.

With Clifford coming back, the fan base will grow tired if he begins to fall back into the same habits that haunted him in previous seasons.

With the addition of Drew Allar and the potential for Christian Veilleux, Sean will find himself on a short leash even with his vast experience.

Penn State Football is experiencing turnover on the defensive side of the ball for the first time in James Franklins’ tenure, which makes the production of the offense early on, that much more of a priority.
