Purdue’s Emil Soehnlen wrestles Indiana’s Donnell Washington during a 174 bout in a Big Ten Duals wrestling match, Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 at Holloway Gymnasium in West Lafayette.Purdue Wrestling Vs Indiana /

Hoosiers . 13. team. 813. . . Previous: 13th

Dual Rank: NR
Record: 2-0
Ranked Wrestlers: 3
133 No. 18 Brock Hudkins
141 No. 21 Cayden Rooks
184 No. 12 Donnell Washington

The Hoosiers now own a 2-0 dual meet record on the season and they have outscored their opponents a total of 80-6. Which appears impressive until you look at who’ve they actually wrestled so far this season.

IU traveled south of Bloomington to complete in a tri dual on November 7th against the wrestling behemoths of Bellarmine and SIUE in Louisville, KY. Indiana then completely beat down each school to the tune of 40-3 and 40-3. But hey, a win is a win and the Hoosiers wrestling team can always use some confidence.

Next up was the Moutaineer Invite in Boone, NC on November 14th. And much like the Terrapins, the Hoosiers also had success in their invite competition as they had five top-three finishers and crowned a champion at 184. Up and comer D.J. Washington continued to show he’s a wrestler to reckon with in the Big Ten as he took home the title at 184, pinning all three opponents along the way.

Next up for Indiana is the Cleveland State Open on December 11th.
