Penn State Football aims to pull off its third ranked win of the season, hosting Michigan Saturday at noon inside Beaver Stadium

Penn State Football will get another chance to knock off a ranked opponent this Saturday when the Wolverines make their way to Happy Valley.

The Wolverines come in as the sixth-ranked team in the country with an 8-1 record sitting squarely in the college football playoff picture. However, a loss to the Nittany Lions would most likely all but eliminate them from playoff contention.

Penn State Football got back to their winning ways with a 17 point victory over Maryland last week but it was not s pretty as the score might have suggested, but none the less a win is a win, especially after a brutal three-game losing streak.

Before this clash, here are three bold predictions for Penn State Football on Saturday:

3. The Penn State Football defense holds Michigan to under 100 rushing yards

Michigan’s success this year has been off the back of its strong ground game, led by a powerful combo of Hasan Haskins and Blake Corum.

However, after limping off last week there is a chance Corum cannot go this week, leaving Haskins to shoulder the load.

The Wolverines are averaging 234 rushing yards per game, and have not been held under 100 all season, as their low watermark is 112 against Rutgers back in late September. The Nittany Lions have had their struggles stopping the run at times, especially the last time they were at Beaver Stadium when they surrendered 350 plus yards to Illinois.

But, Penn State were stout when they needed to be against Iowa and Ohio State as their young defensive tackles are starting to come along in the absence of PJ Mustipher in the middle of that defense.

If Corum can’t go, Haskins is a load to bring down but Corum is the home run hitter of the two backs and could limit the big play ability of the Wolverines rushing attack.

Look for Penn State Football’s defense to make things tough all day for Michigan en route to a statement victory this weekend.
