Penn State Football wide receiver Jahan Dotson and safety Ji’Ayir Brown both earned Big Ten Play of the Week honors on their respective sides of the football.

If you told any Penn State Football fan on Saturday night that Jahan Dotson would win offensive player of the week for his performance, nobody would have been shocked.

By the time the Big Ten announced the conference players of the week on Monday, that prediction became a reality.

The Nittany Lions‘ star wideout shares Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors with Purdue quarterback Aidan O’Connell. He threw for over 500 yards and 3 touchdowns to knock off a previously undefeated Michigan State, so Penn State fans shouldn’t be too upset that Dotson did not get the outright honors.

As for Jahan Dotson, he broke the program record for receiving yards in a game, with 242. Oh, and he also added three touchdowns, including one that went for 86 yards, which is tied for the fourth-longest touchdown reception in school history with Jim Scott, who caught an 86 yard score against Navy in 1971.

Defensively, Ji’Ayir Brown brought home the conference defensive player of the week award.

The safety was tied (with Brandon Smith) for the lead on the team with tackles against Maryland, with 9, 8 of them being solo tackles.

Brown also hauled in his 4th interception of the season, which is tied for the best in the Big Ten, and returned it 87 yards for a touchdown to seal the game late in the fourth quarter.

The pair have been two of the best players all season for this Penn State Football team, and even more so against the Terrapins.
