Jahan Dotson surpassed Deon Butler for Penn State Football’s all-time single-game receiving yards record Saturday against the Maryland Terrapins

Penn State Football wide receiver Jahan Dotson had a career-afternoon against Maryland on Saturday, and set a program record in the process.

Dotson set the Penn State Football program record for receiving yards in a game, surpassing 242 receiving yards and becoming the just the fourth wide receiver in Nittany Lions history to surpass 200 receiving yards in a game.

Deon Butler previously held the single-game record, accounting for 216 receiving yards against Northwestern in 2006.

With just under 6:00 remaining, and Penn State Football leading Maryland 24-14, Dotson had already caught 11 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns, as the focal point of the PSU offense.

Throughout the course of this season, Dotson has emerged as one of the most dynamic receivers in College Football, and a favorite target of Penn State Football quarterback Sean Clifford.

Dotson, a potential first-round pick in the NFL Draft, entered Saturday with 60 receptions for 690 yards and six touchdowns, while averaging 11.5 yards per reception.  He is currently the seventh-leading receiver in program history, with three more games this season to continue to climb that latter.
