Penn State Wrestling’s Carter Starocci Expectations for 2021-2022 season

The expectations for Carter Starocci are going to be very similar to Roman Bravo-Young’s.

Starocci has already won a national title as a freshman, so clearly, the bar is going to be set there. And when you come to Penn State to wrestle for Cael Sanderson, you’re expected to win titles.

But I’m going to expand my expectations for Starocci by blending his key to success into the expectations. Starocci has never wrestled a full dual meet season and he’s going to have his hands full with the talent at 174 in the B1G as well as some early season top 25 matchups.

I still expect him to learn from each match and to improve. Will there be bumps in the road along the way? Sure. It’s a long season.

And when he faces off against Kemerer the next time under the bright lights of the NCAA’s, I expect we will see the same result as before.
