Preseason Prediction – Jahan Dotson wins the Biletnikoff Award

Jahan Dotson has been excellent so far this season, and it is making my prediction of him winning the Biletnikoff Award look like a good one.

As a refresher, the Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the best wide receiver in college football. Last season’s winner was Devonta Smith, the Heisman Trophy winner and first round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles.

At this point, Dotson is certainly one of the frontrunners for the award. So far this season, Dotson is leading the Big Ten with 43 receptions. He is also tied for the Big Ten lead in touchdown catches with 6.

From a statistical standpoint, Dotson is coming off of his worst game of the season. He had 8 catches for 48 yards against Iowa with no touchdowns, his first game of the season without a touchdown.

Dotson will continue to play great football, and as long as he can have big games and/or signature play against some of the top teams remaining on Penn State Football’s schedule, such as Ohio State, he has a great chance to take the Biletnikoff Award home at season’s end.
