Penn State Football’s Jahan Dotson climbing the record books
By Nick Kreiser
Following a great start to the season, Penn State Football wide receiver Jahan Dotson is quickly climbing the record books.
Starting with career receptions, Penn State Football wide receiver Jahan Dotson has now moved into the top 10 of that list with 127 career catches. He passed OJ McDuffie (125) during the win over Indiana.
Next up for Dotson to pass on that list is former tight end Mike Gesicki, who had 129 career receptions. He should be able to pass that mark comfortably next week.
Moving on to career receiving yards, Dotson sprung up to 7th on that list, now with 2,021 (fitting, right?) total receiving yards in his career. During the Indiana matchup, he pased the following former Nittany Lions; OJ McDuffie, Kenny Jackson, Bryant Johnson, and Jordan Norwood.
It will probably be a few weeks until Dotson climbs any higher on that list, as number six on that list is Derek Moye, with 2,395 career yards.
Jahan Dotson makes Penn State Football program history vs. Indiana
Finally, Dotson moved into 4th all time in career receiving touchdowns in Penn State Football history with 2 more touchdown catches against the Hoosiers, raising his total to19. This broke a tie with Allen Robinson (17), and passed Derek Moye, Chris Godwin, and DaeSean Hamilton (all 18).
Here is another look at Dotson’s first touchdown grab of the night:
Deon Butler is currently 3rd all time in receiving touchdowns in Penn State Football history, with 22. Don’t expect that to stand too much longer, as Dotson is hot on his tail.
Another noteworthy record that Jahan Dotson is part of was broken against Indiana as well.
Dotson and Sean Clifford broke the record for most touchdowns between a duo of quarterback and receiver in school history, now with 18.
Who’s record did they break? The duo of wide receiver Kenny Jackson, and quarterback Todd Blackledge, who was fittingly on-hand to call the game alongside Sean McDonough.
Dotson will continue to climb the Penn State Football record books throughout this season, as he makes his case to become the 2nd Biletnikoff Award winner in school history.
