Stop if you’ve heard this before, but Nebraska lost another heartbreaker.

The Cornhuskers fell 32-29 to Michigan, despite holding a 29-26 lead in the fourth quarter.

It was another gut-wrenching performance for a team that has played a lot better than their record indicates. Quarterback Adrian Martinez had quietly been having an awesome season and he continued that on Saturday, going 18-28 for 291 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. He added 38 yards and a score on the ground as well.

It just feels like he’s a one-man show, though, and isn’t getting much help from others. The unfortunate thing is though, it was a late fumble by Martinez that cost Nebraska the game.

He fumbled while picking up a first down with less than two minutes remaining in the game, then tied at 29. He was fighting for extra yards when he got stripped.

Michigan hit the go-ahead field goal seconds later.

This team feels so close to getting it together, but it just doesn’t happen.
