Penn State Football has another opportunity to make a statement on the national stage Saturday night against the Indiana Hoosiers, inside Beaver Stadium

What it will take for Penn State Football to beat the Indiana Hoosiers in a the ‘Michael Penix Jr. Revenge Game’ (or maybe it isn’t)?

There is one simple key for both Penn State Football and Indiana to win Saturday’s primetime kickoff, and we will look at those key’s in this week’s “We Win If, They Win If” column.

For more Penn State football coverage, click here for reasons for optimism and worry, blue or white Stripeout section and B1G power rankings.

In last week’s column, we said Villanova quarterback Daniel Smith had to have a career day with a 175.0+ quarterback rating.  He wasn’t awful, finishing 20-34 with 222 yards, 2 td’s and 1 int (to go with 3 sacks). That comes up to a 127.7 quarterback rating, no where near the 175 ‘required for victory.’

While the Nittany Lions didn’t get the 7 touches from the tight ends, we’re still claiming victory, moving to 4-0 this season on our prognostications.

Here are the keys for Indiana and Penn State Football to win Saturday:

Indiana wins if …

Is it too easy to say the refs can’t tell the difference between in bounds and out of bounds at the pylon?

Ty Fryfogle is the only WR on the Hoosiers roster with over 15 catches on the season.  He is the life blood of the receiving corps and undoubtably Penix Jr.’s favorite target.

Indiana wins Saturday, if Fryfogel touches the ball double digits. This can include reverses and end arouds but the Hoosiers must get him involved in order to pull off the win in Beaver Stadium as a double digit underdog.
