Minnesota has actually looked good since losing to Ohio State, and losing star running back Mohamed Ibrahim in the same game. The problem is, a lot of teams in the conference look better, so here they are at No. 9.

The Gophers destroyed Colorado 30-0 on Saturday behind a 121-yards, 3-touchdown performance from running back Trey Potts, who has filled in nicely for Ibrahim. Tanner Morgan did his job, directing the offense and not turning the ball over.

The side of the ball that really played well was the defense. They held Colorado to just 63 total yards and negative 19 rushing yards, those are not typos. They also forced two turnovers and had four sacks. After how bad they looked in the first two games, P.J. Fleck needed a big performance from his defense, but he likely didn’t see this coming.

Colorado lost to Texas A&M 10-7 two weeks ago, so for Minnesota to come in and dominate them was something. The Gophers host a bad Bowling Green team this week, giving them another opportunity to put on a dominating performance.
