Penn State Football QB Sean Clifford

Grade: A+

As a journalism major I know it is almost impossible to get an A+ on anything you turn in, as nothing is perfect.

Clifford was not perfect Saturday night, but he was the perfect version of Sean Clifford, and that is exactly what this Penn State Football team needs.

The senior completed 28 of 32 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns, only throwing one interception that came at the end of the half and almost acted as an arm punt of sorts. He also ran for 16 yards on six attempts.

The offensive line did a great job of keeping Clifford upright in the pocket all night long, and he was in rhythm and on target, spreading the ball around to seven different pass catchers. he made a few really nice plays with his legs as well, escaping the pocket and keeping his eyes up and down field, finding wide receivers.

He was the perfect mix of game manger that did not turn the ball over with aggressive quarterback play, making the throws he had to make, including one that wont show in the stat sheet. Backed up inside their own one yard line, he threw that fade to Jahan Dotson that resulted in a pass interference call against Auburn and got Penn State Football the space they needed.

If Clifford can play like this the rest of the season this team can accomplish everything they hope to and then some.
