No. 10: Penn State Football takes No. 13 Ohio State to double OT in 2014
We start during the first season of the James Franklin era, where he was just starting to build the program back up. Going into their matchup with Ohio State that season, the Nittany Lions were unranked, while the Ohio State Buckeyes, led by J.T. Barrett were the No. 12 team in the country.
Early on, it looked like it would be all Buckeyes, as they got out to a 17-point lead before an Anthony Zettel interception began to turn the game on its head. From there, the Nittany Lions would fight back, forcing the game into double overtime, where they would eventually fall to the Buckeyes.
Still, it was an exciting game inside Beaver Stadium, and the crowd even got to see DaeSean Hamilton set the program single-game record for receptions with 14. The fans may have been sent home unhappy in this one, but it was a memorable moment that proved PSU could play with anyone.
