Penn State Football survived what could have been a trap game situation, beating Ball State for the Nittany Lions’ 300th victory inside Beaver Stadium, to remain unbeaten

The Nittany Lions beat the Ball State Cardinals 44-13, and while the overall team performance was solid, there are still some things that need to be cleaned up for this Penn State Football team.

Here are some major takeaways from Penn State Football’s win over Ball State.

Penn State Football Takeaway #1 – Daequan Hardy is Much Improved

Last season, Daequan Hardy looked to be quite overwhelmed at times. However, things seem to have changed for Hardy this season, as he has played quite well through Penn State Football’s first two games of the season.

Hardy had an excellent interception today, late in the game. He stayed with his man the whole way, tracked the ball, and made a good play on it.

He also had some other moments where he forced incompletions due to sound coverage. Finally, he has also done well at making open field tackles, and not allowing ball carriers to pick up extra yards.

If Hardy can continue to play the way he has so far this season, he will be a huge asset to this Penn State football team playing the “star” position.
