Penn State football: What landing 4-Star RB Nicholas Singleton means for Nittany Lions
Joining a stacked Penn State football offensive haul
New offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich has to be very pleased with how the 2022 class is shaping up for the Nittany Lions.
At quarterback, Penn State has 4-star Drew Allar and high 3-star Beau Pribula committed. Allar recently took part in the Elite 11 quarterback competition and was named one of the top 11 quarterbacks from the competition. It is considered the highest honor for a high school quarterback.
The wide receiver group is highlighted by 4-stars Kaden Saunders, Anthony Ivey and Mehki Flowers, who may be a safety in college. The group also includes 3-star speedster Tyler Johnson, who has been rising up the rankings. Saunders may be on his way to 5-star status, but either way, this is probably the best receiver haul Franklin has accumulated.
Jerry Cross is the lone tight end in the class and that’s more than ok. The 4-star is a massive 6-foot-6 and 257 pounds making him a big target for Penn State quarterbacks in the future.
On the offensive line, 4-star Drew Shelton highlights the group and he is joined by 3-star Maleek McNeil and JUCO 3-star JB Nelson. Offensive line coach Phil Trautwein has to like what he has here, but the Nittany Lions probably aren’t done recruiting the offensive line.
Now, Penn State has one of the best running backs in the country committed in Singleton. They aren’t done at running back either as they likely need another after not taking one in 2021. The candidates include a slew of 4-stars: Omarion Hampton, Kaytron Allen, George Pettaway and Ramon Brown.
