Penn State Basketball’s opponent set for 2021 Emerald Coast Classic

Penn State Basketball will be featured against a college basketball blue blood in the 2021 Emerald Coast Classic
Penn State Basketball will play Louisiana State University in the first round of the 2021 Emerald Coast Classic.
Previously announced that LSU, Oregon State, Wake Forest and the Nittany Lions were the four cornerstone teams for the 2021 iteration of the Emerald Coast Classic basketball tournament presented by Global Sports.
LSU finished 19-10 last year (11-6 in the Southeastern Conference), advancing to the SEC Conference Championship game, losing to the #1 seed Alabama by a single point. The #8 seed in the NCAA Tournament Tigers then fell to the #1 seed Michigan 86-78 in the ‘third’ round of the NCAA Tournament.
Florida State won the 2019 Emerald Coast Classic with fellow Big Ten Purdue Boilermakers the runner-up. Tournament director Maurey Hanks, the chief executive officer of Global Sports, stated “The reputation of our tournament has allowed us to continue to attract some of the top basketball programs int he country. We continue to strive to bring the best college basketball teams ossible to the Emerald Coast of Florida.”
The tournament will be held this November 26 and 27th at The Arena on the campus of Northwest Florida State College.
No news about tickets are availbale at this time. The “hashtag” for the tournament will be #BasketballOnTheBeach, no #finishtheclimb but we’ll get there. At least we know new coach Micah Shrewsberry has a nice pitching arm!
