What This Means for Other Targets

The commitment of Mills shouldn’t change much for Penn State in terms of who they recruit in the secondary.

JUCO players are only on the roster for two to three years, so you can take one and still fill up a need at a position with high school recruits.

It’s been discussed how Mehki Flowers could be a safety at the next level, and it may depend on who else joins the class.

Other targets to fill the need at safety include Cristian Driver, Jaeden Gould and Kevin Winston. It’s still likely that Penn State looks to take two of these recruits.

With a lack of depth at safety, brining in a JUCO player who can play right away is a wise decision by the Penn State staff.
