5. Ta’Quan Roberson Could Push Clifford

After throwing the early pick-six to King, Ta’Quan Roberson settled down and looked confident out there.

He moves incredibly well in the pocket and escaped pressure multiple times, and took one scramble to the end zone for a 7-yard score.

Roberson threw the impressive back-shoulder pass to George in the end zone for his passing touchdown.

He is still far from a finished product, but I was impressed with what I saw from him, especially after considering the fact that he hasn’t thrown a pass in a college game yet.

With his legs as a weapon, in addition to his arm, Roberson has the talent to take over under center if needed in 2021.

Penn State is likely to bring in a quarterback via the transfer portal, but that will likely be just for depth purposes. We will see how Roberson continues to develop over the Summer, but from what I saw on Saturday, there should be confidence with his as the No. 2 quarterback.

It will also be good to see Roberson’s performances push Clifford as well.
