B1G Coaches Rankings: Where does Penn State Football’s James Franklin land?
1. Ryan Day – Ohio State Buckeyes
Day was not given credit for the Buckeyes success in 2019 but after back to back undefeated seasons and trips to the college football playoff and national championship, the credit is past due.
After taking over for Urban Meyer, Day has not missed a beat in Columbus as Ohio State will once again be the prohibitive favorite in the Big Ten in 2021. Day has won the conference in both his seasons at the helm and is yet to lose a regular season game.
Their recruiting has taken itself to a new level as Ohio State has put together back to back top five classes and their 2022 class might break 247sports composite rankings for how stellar it is shaping up to be.
They will have to replace quarterback Justin Fields next fall but presumed starter CJ Stroud looks like he will jump in and the Buckeyes will not really miss a beat.
