ESPN’s Todd McShay released his new mock draft and version 4.0 included three Nittany Lions in his round 1 and 2 projections.

After their impressive Pro Day numbers, rumors of Oweh flying up NFL team’s draft boards are coming from all direction.   We expect Parsons to be a first half of round 1 pick but what about Friermuth coming off injury?

To read McShay’s full mock draft, and read his analysis of each projection requires a subscription to ESPN+.

Here’s a look at McShay’s projections for Penn State Football’s Micah Parsons, Pat Freiermuth, Jayson Oweh, and our analysis of each:

#12 — Philadelphia Eagles select Micah Parsons (LB, Penn State)

Why it fits:

The Eagles’ linebacker depth is putrid.

Don’t beleive me?

Here are the current LB’s on their roster; Alex Singleton, Joe Ostman, T.J. Edwards, Joe Bachie, Shaun Bradley (not to be confused with former 76er Shawn Bradley), Genard Avery and Rashad Smith. Even the biggest Eagles fans couldn’t name all seven of them.

If Parsons gets drafted by the Eagles, he will be a starter from day 1, and likely the best LB on the roster from the second camp opens.

Why it doesn’t fit:

The Eagles were 4-11-1 last year for a reason, and that reason wasn’t (at least just) their linebacker corp.

Philadelphia was far too old along the offensive line and, despite perhaps committing to Jalen Hurts as the long-terms starting quarterback, the Eagles are in need of weapons on the offensive side of the ball, and perhaps some added depth up front.
