Penn State Football: 3 former Nittany Lions who still need an NFL team in 2021

Penn State Football was well represented in the Super Bowl, with three Nittany Lions hoisting the Lombardi Trophy with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the program could see as many as three players chosen in the first-round of next month’s NFL Draft, but several former Lions are still looking for a home next season.

Free agency has also proven lucrative for several former Penn State standouts, with wide receiver Chris Godwin getting the franchise tag from the Buccaneers and defensive lineman Austin Johnson re-upped with the NY Giants and could play a prominent role there.

Then, there’s Marcus Allen, who signed a long-term deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers who plan to move him from safety to linebacker.

But, several former Nittany Lions are still waiting for a team to sign them, and given the current economic climate of the NFL, could be forced to take a one-year contract closer to training camp once teams have their rosters essentially set coming out of the NFL Draft.
