DT Adam McLean (2015)

Like Wimbush, Adam McLean was one of Franklin’s early recruiting gems in 2014 (for the 2015 cycle). He committed on April 12, 2014, that year’s Blue/White Game.

McLean visited Penn State numerous times over that Summer, even getting a Penn State haircut. He was an outspoken recruiter for the Nittany Lions.

Things changed quickly though, as McLean de-committed in November of 2014, eventually committing and signing with Maryland.

McLean went on to try to get recruits like Shane Simmons to follow him to Maryland and flip from Penn State. There wasn’t much success with that.

McLean did deal with injuries during his time at Maryland, and probably would’ve had more success if that didn’t happen. In the end, he totaled 47 tackles with one sack in 18 games for the Terps.

Not bad production for a defensive tackle, but the injuries held him back.

Worth noting that Maryland did not beat Penn State during this time.
