2. We will see Noah Cain … Eventually

Franklin said during Monday’s press conference that sophomore running back Noah Cain will start to participate during the second half of spring practice, whatever that means.

Cain suffered what appeared to be an ankle/Achilles injury on the opening drive of the Indiana game last season, and we have not see him since.

It is a bit disturbing to hear that Cain is not ready to go at the beginning of spring practice and is a bit puzzling that he will be in a few weeks?

If that was an Achilles injury it could linger into even the start of the regular season for the former IMG Academy standout, which would leave the running backs room a man short.

The room is full of talent but Cain’s ability stands out above the rest, as he has proven in 2019 that he can be an every down back who can shoulder the load of 20 plus carries a game, when he is healthy. The Iowa game in 2019 comes to mind when you think of what Cain can do with the ball, where he carries it 22 times for 102 yards and a score, running over Hawkeye defenders all night.

Cain’s health will become a storyline the longer we go without seeing him on the field, and hopefully for Franklin and Penn State Football that is not much longer.
