Iowa may be primed to have one of their best teams under Kirk Ferentz in 2021 and the Hawkeyes will once again be lead by their defense.

Last season Iowa finished second in the Big Ten allowing 16 points per game finishing top five in the conference in both rushing and passing yards allowed per game.

Iowa finished second in sacks with 22 and third in interceptions with 11, extending a streak of consecutive games with an interceptions to over 20.

The Hawkeyes will have to replace their two best pass rushers next season, as defensive linemen Chauncey Gholston and Daviyon Nixon who each recorded five and a half sacks last season.
