Penn State Football edge rusher Jayson Oweh could be an ideal fit for the Baltimore Ravens, says latest NFL Mock Draft projection.

Traditionally, the Baltimore Ravens don’t rebuild on defense, they reload, and might be forced to do so in the front-seven this offseason.

Both Yannick Ngakoue and Matt Judon are set to become unrestricted free agents on a defense, that took its lumps against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Playoffs this year.

Penn State Football’s Jayson Oweh is among the highest-risers during this pre-NFL Draft season, in large part to his explosiveness and athleticism that teams believe they can mold into a productive pass-rusher.

In CBS Sports’ latest NFL Mock Draft projection, Oweh lands with the Ravens with the No. 27 overall pick:

"Yannick Ngakoue and Matt Judon will be free agents in a few weeks and — even if one returns — the Ravens need to get better off the edge. Oweh has all the physical tools to make the jump to the NFL, he just needs more experience."

Oweh, 6-foot-5 and 252 pounds, didn’t produce a sack last season, but Pro Football Focus gives the sophomore an 80.3 pass-rush grade and an 18.4 pass-rush win rate, which is tantalizing for NFL defensive coordinators.

In his two seasons as a starter, Owh produced 63 total tackles with a pair of pass breakups and seven sacks.

If Baltimore loses either Ngakoue or Judon, Oweh has the type of upset to develop into a high-end pass-rusher in the long-term, and is worthy of working into a rotation of pass-rushers playing meaningful snaps as a rookie, in the near-term.
